Who it's for

Who is a dental prosthesis suitable for?

A dental prosthesis is a custom-made artificial tooth solution that restores the appearance of missing teeth, chewing function, and speech. It is particularly indicated in the following situations:

Those who prefer to avoid surgery

For patients who are not suitable candidates for implant surgery or who wish to avoid surgery, bridges and removable dentures offer an effective alternative.

Multiple missing teeth

In jaws where several or all teeth are missing, complete and partial dentures quickly restore function.

Those seeking a quick, budget-friendly solution

Prosthetic treatment is completed in less time than implant therapy and is more accessible in terms of cost — a practical starting point for many patients.

Aesthetic concerns and loss of confidence

Patients who feel self-conscious about smiling due to missing teeth regain their aesthetics and confidence with natural-looking prostheses.

Prosthesis types

Types of dental prostheses

Fixed or removable prosthesis options are applied depending on the number of missing teeth, the condition of remaining teeth, and your expectations. We determine the most appropriate type together at your examination.

Fixed Bridge ProsthesisSurgery-free / fixed

A fixed prosthesis supported by the teeth on either side of the gap. It provides near-natural use without the hassle of removal.

Complete (Full) DentureFull-arch denture

The classic removable prosthesis applied when no teeth remain in the jaw, replacing all missing teeth. With modern materials it is thinner, more aesthetic, and more comfortable than ever.

Partial DentureClasp / precision attachment

A removable prosthesis supported by remaining natural teeth when some teeth are still present. With precision attachment options, no metal clasp is visible.

Implant-Supported Snap-On DentureSnap-on · removable

A removable prosthesis that locks onto 2–4 implants with a snap system. Far more stable than a conventional full denture — it does not shift, causes no soreness, and lets you chew with confidence.

Implant-Supported Fixed ProsthesisHybrid · fixed

A full-arch fixed prosthesis screwed onto implants that cannot be removed by the patient. The closest feel to natural teeth — the permanent teeth of the All-on-Four concept.

Decision guide

Which prosthesis is right for you?

The right prosthesis depends on the number of missing teeth, the strength of remaining teeth, the condition of your jawbone, and your expectations. A brief summary:

There are healthy teeth on both sides of the gap

A bridge prosthesis can be applied for a fixed solution without surgery; a dental implant is also a permanent alternative worth considering.

Some of my teeth are present, some are missing

A partial denture supported by remaining teeth — or implant-supported options where appropriate — can be planned.

I have no teeth left in my jaw

A classic complete (full) denture or, for a far more stable result, an implant-supported snap-on denture is preferred.

I do not want to remove and reinsert anything

An implant-supported fixed prosthesis (All-on-Four) screwed onto implants is the most permanent solution closest to natural teeth.

Treatment process

How is a dental prosthesis made?

We are with you at every stage — from your first examination until you are fully comfortable with your prosthesis.

Examination and planning

An intraoral evaluation and, where needed, digital imaging are performed to determine the most suitable prosthesis type for you.

Impression and design

A digital or conventional impression is taken; the prosthesis is custom-designed in the laboratory according to your facial proportions and bite.

Try-in

Color, size, and fit are verified through try-in appointments; the prosthesis is not finalized until you approve it.

Delivery and fit checks

The prosthesis is delivered; throughout the adjustment period, soreness and fit checks ensure complete comfort.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about dental prostheses

How long does it take to get used to a dental prosthesis?
Most patients adjust to their prosthesis within a few weeks. Minor difficulties with speaking and eating in the first days are normal; regular wear and small adjustments made during follow-up appointments speed up the process.
How long does a dental prosthesis last?
A well-maintained prosthesis can be used comfortably for an average of 5–10 years. Over time, changes in the jawbone and gums may require relining or replacement; regular check-ups extend its lifespan.
Which is better — a fixed or a removable prosthesis?
Fixed prostheses (bridges, implant-supported fixed prostheses) offer the comfort closest to natural teeth. Removable prostheses are more budget-friendly and do not require surgery. Which is right for you is determined at examination based on the condition of your remaining teeth and jawbone.
Will the prosthesis cause sore spots or pain?
Minor sore spots are possible in the first few weeks with a new prosthesis; they are resolved with simple adjustments made at follow-up appointments. With implant-supported prostheses, the load on the palate is minimal, so soreness is far less common.
How much does a dental prosthesis cost?
The cost is determined individually based on the type of prosthesis (bridge, complete, partial, implant-supported), the materials used, and the number of missing teeth — it varies by case. Please book an examination appointment at ÖzbuDent for an accurate estimate.
How do I care for my prosthesis?
Removable prostheses should be brushed daily and stored overnight in clean water or a special soaking solution after removal. Fixed prostheses are brushed like natural teeth; use of an interdental brush and dental floss is important. A dentist check-up every 6 months is recommended.
